She has given me strength, creativity, and energy to continue with my art, as well as motivation for all things. I couldn’t ask for a better daughter. This is why I dedicated a whole quilt to her.

My Grandchildren's Portrait
This quilt is dedicated to my two grandchildren. I transferred a photograph of the two and thread painted them into art. To this photo they express the care, love, and trust they gave for each other. This was my favorite photo taken of my grandchildren. They are truly wonderful kids.

This quilt was inspired by my dog, David. He is gone from me now, but I steel feel his presence every day. This quilt represents the pain and love that still exists in my heart. The thread art is one continuous line. It is supposed to represent how life is one continuous experience. His life will live on through this portrait of him.

My inspiration for this quilt was the French cartoonist Leo Fontan. His paintings most always contained irony. I decided to add my own twist and art style into this quilt, while following Leo’s style. The woman in the picture symbolizes the fashion and everyday lifestyle of a French woman. Stitches create the beauty of Paris in the background on cloth imitating the rain.
